NCBCE is an education non-profit located in the Governor's office and serving North Carolina since 1983. In addition to playing an important convener role, we also develop and pilot innovative programs that help link classrooms to careers. We are a 501(c)(3) so that means we have a board of directors that we report to and non-profit parameters under which we operate. We also work alongside the Governor's team to help spot ways our efforts can align with various education and workforce initiatives he supports.
For this program, we will bring in representatives from the Governor's office along with other agencies including the Community College System, the Department of Public Instruction, the Department of Commerce, and NCWorks. This Students@Work program will be ideal for government / civics classes, as well as students interested in pursing careers in public service or the non-profit community. We will speak to programs we have launched ranging from an autism pilot to a new technology platform.
The program will take place at the Office of the Governor at 116 W. Jones Street in Raleigh, NC. Dress code is business casual. We are open to hosting multiple groups throughout the month of March.
