General Program Overview
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, the North Carolina Highway Patrol, Raleigh Emergency Communications Center, and the Wilmington Fire Department are pleased to offer a coordinated 2022 Virtual Students@Work First Responder Industry Spotlight Day on March 4 for middle school students from throughout North Carolina. The event will feature five live 40-minute sessions that will be held from 8:40am – 2:20pm with a break for lunch from 11:30am - 12:30pm.
Each session will expose students to careers as a first responder that can be found throughout North Carolina. Students are welcome to participate in as many sessions as they would like. While we would like for as many students as possible to benefit from the live presentations, a recording of the sessions will be available after March 4 so that registered students can go back and watch them later.
The topics will include Law Enforcement, Fire and Rescue, and Emergency Communications.
Each virtual session is listed as a separate resource within Navigator. To select specific sessions, find each of the session providers listed above among the Students@Work resources and choose the sessions individually that you would like for your students to have the option of attending. You will be contacted with further instructions after you register.
